About Senior Saver
Senior Saver Car Rentals was established in 1989 and is Australian owned and operated. Senior Saver has on-airport (desks in the terminal building) at Cairns, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Launceston airports and services Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart and Perth airports with a meet and greet service.
The Fleet
Senior Saver operates a fleet of over 800 of the latest model vehicles ranging from small, medium and large sedans & Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to minibuses. Senior Saver regularly updates its fleet, the average age of its vehicles being just six months. Senior Saver fleet is well maintained and covered by 24hr – 7 day a week roadside assistance Australia wide. Most of the Senior Saver fleet includes standard features such as dual airbags, power steering, air conditioning and secure central locking devices.
Senior Saver Car Hire Australia Rental Terms Vehicle Collection
You must present a valid driver’s license at the time of rental. Senior Saver accepts probationary licenses issued by States and Territories of Australia. If your driver’s license does not include a photo you will be required to provide alternative photo identification. You do not have to present your International Drivers License, provided your license of origin is clearly valid and recogniseable as an authentic driver’s license.
Insurance
When you rent a vehicle from Senior Saver it is comprehensively insured and meets all registration and roadworthy standards required by Australian State and Federal legislation. When renting a Senior Saver vehicle you have a liability for damage to and/or theft of the vehicle and/or damage to third party property of $2,750 (Standard Liability), which may be reduced to$275 by purchasing a Liability Reduction Package from Senior Saver.
Loss or Damage Liability Reduction
This optional service is available to all customers and drivers. it reduces the damage excess from $2750 to $275 including coverage of damage to windscreen, headlights and tyres. It also covers damage occurring as a result of single vehicle accidents.
Personal Injury
Senior Saver maintains a Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance Policy in each State of Australia. This covers personal injury to the driver (when not at fault), passengers of the insured vehicle and any third party. In the event of a claim Senior Saver will advise you of the CTP insurer for that vehicle.
Additional Drivers
Senior Saver allows as many additional drivers to drive the vehicle as are requested. Each driver must present a valid drivers licence to Senior Saver before being allowed to drive the vehicle. A fee of $3.30 per day applies for additional drivers.
Young Drivers. Drivers between 21 and 24 years of age inclusive are required to pay a daily surcharge, which is currently $22 per day inclusive of GST. Young drivers may only drive CCAR class vehicles.
One-Way Rental Fees
One-way rentals are available between most locations on a free sell basis for classes CCAR(TSA) with FCAR(TLA), IFAR (4WD) and PVAR(8MB) are on a request basis only. The following one-way drop fees apply for rentals of less than 8 days in duration.
No one way rental are permitted interstate from Perth, Hobart or Launceston.

One-way rentals are also permitted between Launceston and Hobart. A $100 One Way Fee applies for rentals of less than 4-day duration.
Satellite Navigation
Portable satellite navigation systems are available for rental with Senior Saver vehicles. The units are supplied with cradles to fix to the windscreen of the vehicle and charging units for the batteries. The units are available at all locations subject to availability for $16.50 per day.
Toll Road Passes
Australia has a significant number of toll roads in particular in Sydney and Melbourne many of which do not have manned tollbooths. Tolls vary dependent on the road used and length of the journey. Senior Saver is able to provide its customers with an electronic toll pass for the vehicle, which can be used to pay the toll on all toll roads in Australia. The pass is available for a flat fee of $16.50 per day.
Satellite Navigation and Toll Road Pass Package
For customers wanting to take advantage of both the satellite navigation and toll road pass option Senior Saver has a special offer of both for $27.50 per day.
Baby/Booster Seats
Senior Saver can provide baby/booster seats for any vehicle on its fleet at a cost of $11 per day and a maximum of $55 for the period of the hire per baby/booster seat. The customer is responsible for the fitting of the seat.
Highway Helpers
All Senior Saver vehicles are covered by 24-hour roadside assistance. However for complete peace of mind Senior Saver has introduced Highway Helpers which enhances this service to include those times when the problem is more human than mechanical like losing the vehicle keys, running out of petrol or leaving the lights on and getting a flat battery. Senior Saver staff can provide a full breakdown of the services benefits, which are available for $3.30 per day.
Area of Use
Vehicles may be driven in Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Vehicles rented in Western Australia may only be driven in Western Australia. Vehicles may not be driven in the Northern Territory no matter where they are rented. Vehicles must be driven on properly formed roads at all times and may not be driven on unsealed surfaces.
No Smoking
No smoking inside the vehicles at all time.
Charges
Charges are calculated and payment collected at the time of vehicle collection. Senior Saver accepts all major credit cards. A fee of 4% of the total rental charges applies to rentals settled by American Express or Diners Club. No fee applies to rentals settled by Visa or Mastercard. No refunds are given for vehicles returned early.
Flight Delays
At airport locations Senior Saver will hold vehicles when flights are delayed provided the flight number has been given. Vehicles will be released if not collected 30 minutes after flights have cleared.
At city locations vehicles will be held for one hour after the nominated collection time.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
